Secretary’s Report

Our secretary read the minutes from the July meeting at Abita Brew Pub.

 

Treasurer’s Report

Calvin, our treasurer, reported that we have $2085.42 in our club account.

 

Old Business

 The Zapps International Beer Tasting will be held on October 16th, 2004. Anyone interested in brewing for this event would need to commit by September 16th 2004. Thus far, Jason, Jack, and Jim Cooper have volunteered five gallons each. There is no LSU game that Saturday. The event will benefit the World Life Center.

Jack congratulated Mike for his Schwartzbier for winning first in the MCAB competition.

Larry announced that MKOB T-shirts can now be ordered in Ash, Mustard, Teal, and Tan. Send Larry an email if anyone is interested.

Jack announced that Redstick Brewmasters meetings are held the 1st Thursday of every month in Baton Rouge.

 

New Bus ines s

  Jack re minded us of our upcoming elections to be held at our October meeting. The newly elected officers will assume their positions in November. Nominations will take place at the September meeting.

Jack also informed us that September is MKOB’s 10th anniversary.

Jeff explained how great the Brew Masters Dinner was at Crescent City Brewery. Jeff gave us some descriptive examples on how food was paired with the different beer styles.

Craig reminded everyone that Dixie Cup will take place the 2nd weekend in October.
