Old Business

Patrick O’Neil explained the details of the upcoming May 15th Brew for a Cure. This will be a mock Crawfish Head with a 121 hop additions. The only glass that will be allowed is a flask of yeast. Patrick asked that everyone bring their Brew for a Cure beer to the October meeting. Winner will receive a 55lb bag of grain. Raffle tickets were passed out for members to sell for the event.  Brew for a Cure will benefit Rhett Syndrome patients. We also received our Zea’s discount cards.

Larry handed out our MkOb T-shirts

New Business

Jack announced that the WYES beer tasting is on June 5th and that No one has volunteered to donate beer for the tasting. Jack asked whether we should pull out of this event or get a commitment to donate 20 gallons.

Jack asked for ideas on club spending and opened this for discussion.

Larry mentioned that we should invest in Club brewing equipment that would benefit members wanting to learn about all grain brewing.

Larry also mentioned that we should plan a pub crawl.

After further discussion on the WYES beer tasting a motion was made for the club to cover the grain bill for members donating beer to the event. It was agreed upon to set a limit of $30.00 per 5 gallons. A second to the motion was made, and a unanimous vote was recorded.

Another motion was made to cover the cost of tonight’s meal. A second to the motion was made, and a failed vote was recorded.

Next in fund discussion was our upcoming Crawfish boil on May 22nd. A motion was made for the club to cover the cost up to $600.00. Guests would pay a $10.00 fee.  The deadline for reservations would be May 12th. A second to the motion was made, and a unanimous vote was recorded.

Due to the longevity of our meeting there was no Auction, show and tell or raffle tonight.
