Old Business
The Times Picayune had an article on the brewing display that MKOB set up at the Farmer's Market in January. Jean Junius told us that of 100 2 oz. tasting cups, only 20 remained at the end of the day. There were lots of people tasting and enjoying a variety of home brew available. The Farmer's Market would like us to do another display this summer.
The upcoming Bluebonnet Brew Competition as well as the Crescent City Competition was discussed but the dates mentioned conflicted with previously mentioned dates, so please check with On or Elvis to get the facts.
The beer judging training, which was discussed last month, was held at George Par's house. Jean, Calvin, & Craig all attended and said that it was well worth the time. They learned all about pilasters and said it was very interesting how the different judges compared to each other. The next session will also include pilasters as well as another style. If you are interested in joining the judging classes, please contact George APR.
Zee's "Frequent Drinkers" cards will be issued soon for members who have paid their dues. The HA is trying to get more brew pubs to participate in discounts for home brewers.
Congratulations to Peter Cadoo for winning best IPA in the country! Peter brought some of this "killer" IPA to share with us. It was yummy.
Elvis will be hosting his annual "Sunday Gras Toth Parade Party" He plans of having lots of home brew including 3 gallons of Peter's IPA.
Peter gave a talk on the history and process of making an IPA. It was very educational.
