May 16, 2002
Due to lack of available time, this issue of the Mystic Krewe of Brew newsletter will cover both our April and May meetings.
Our April meeting was held on April 18th, 2002, at the La.
Grill in Mandeville, La.
To sum it up, a motion was passed to allow reimbursement of
entry fees for up to 3 beers per brewer for any brew competition nationwide.
The shipping fees are to be paid by the brewer. This motion must be
renewed at the beginning of 2003.
The score sheets for the Crescent City Competition were handed
out. Ron Laborde nabbed a 2nd place ribbon and Jack Shugg picked up a 3rd
place ribbon. Congratulations to both of them. Both winners will
receive a collector’s edition crystal glass.
Our May meeting was held on May 16th, 2002 on the patio at
the Columbia Street Tap Room.
A brief Secretary’s report was given due to the fact that I
couldn’t get around to typing one up for the web.
The Treasurer gave a report which stated that the club’s bank
roll is now at $1828.52.
Old Business was covered and we learned that Larry Hartzog has
ordered the prize crystal glasses for presentation to Ron Laborde and Jack Shugg
for their placing in the Crescent City Competition, but they are on back order
and should be in soon. Larry is also still working on getting the bottle
openers ordered.
Linda was introduced as a guest of Larry’s.
New Business was opened to the floor, but no one had anything
new to discuss, so…
The raffle ensued and a couple of t-shirts were won by some
great people. Ok, so I wasn’t paying close enough attention… You
know who you were, so… enjoy the shirts!!!
We held a small auction of 2 mini kegs which Craig Sollberger
brought in. I’m thinking that Peter Caddo won the bid.
Our next meeting will be held on June 20th, 2002 at The Boiling
Point in Slidell, La. It is located near the curve where Pontchartrain
meets Old Spanish Trail. I apologize for the lack of good information on
the location. I don’t even have a phone # of the place. Please
call Ron Laborde with questions regarding the location. He should be able
to assist.
Have a great day and whatever you do, DON’T VOLUNTEER TO BE
YOUR SON’S CUB SCOUT DEN LEADER!!!! You might not even have time for a
beer!!!
10-4, over and out….
